Greater Public Stresses Continued Need for Puerto Rico Support
Many are still without basic needs one month after Hurricane Maria
Hurricane Maria’s aftermath is not over for Puerto Rico and so Greater Public is continuing to push for support from the broadcast industry to support its peers there.
Greater Public’s Joyce MacDonald shared some of the struggles that public radio and television employees in Puerto Rico are going through, including lack of food, water, electricity and more. In the past week
MacDonald said she received more than 100 requests for aid.
MacDonald asks that members of the broadcast industry
support their colleagues in Puerto Rico with any donation possible; 100 percent
goes directly to recipients. She also asks that those who have already
contributed continue to spread the word with other broadcasters.
