iHeart Names Two Digital Program Directors

A new PD in St. Louis was also announced

iHeartMedia says Rob Whiteside has been named digital program director for its Virginia/Carolina Region. Additionally, Maurice DeVoe has joined its St. Louis market as program director for KMJM(FM) in St. Louis, and Kelsey Maxon has been named digital program director for iHeartMedia Hartford; both appointments are effective June 5.

Whiteside will be responsible for growing digital resources and reach for the region’s radio station brands as well as day-to-day digital programming for the Raleigh, N.C., market. Whiteside and his team will work with the programming and sales departments to deliver messages on digital platforms. 

Whiteside joins iHeartMedia’s Virginia/Carolina Region from the company’s Central Division, where he worked as the digital operations director and lead digital operations for 55 markets. Whiteside has also worked as National sales coordinator/graphic designer for Capstar Broadcasting and as director of operations for SFX Radio.

The iHeartMedia Virginia/Carolina Region encompasses 54 radio stations.

At St. Louis’ KMJM Maurice DeVoe will be responsible for the day-to-day programming operations. He will work with on-air personalities and sales to oversee the station’s on-air content, digital footprint and music programming.

DeVoe joins iHeartMedia from Cumulus Media, where he served as corporate program director for its urban and rhythmic formats and PD of KMJK(FM) in Kansas City, Mo. He has 16 years as a PD and has programmed several formats in Philadelphia, Houston, Dallas and other markets.

iHeartMedia St. Louis owns and operates KSD(FM), KMJM(FM), KLOU(FM), KLOU(HD), KLLT(FM), KSLZ(FM) and KATZ(AM) and is part of iHeartMedia.

Kelsey Maxon will oversee digital strategy for the company’s eight markets in the Hartford Region. Maxon and his team will collaborate with the sales departments, programming staff and talent for the region’s brands to deliver access to content across mobile, social and web platforms.

Maxon previously worked as the digital program director for iHeartMedia Providence where he led the department for three years. He also served as the promotions manager and digital coordinator for WEEI, contemporary marketing representative for McLaughlin & Moran, Inc. and PD/on-air talent for WSUC(FM).

iHeartMedia Hartford owns and operates WWYZ(FM), WKSS(FM), WUCS(FM), WHCN(FM), WPOP(AM) and is part of iHeartMedia.
