iHeart Taps New Chicago Region SVP

Group owner also makes changes in Indy, LA and Charlotte

iHeartMedia says Adam Kurtz has been named senior vice president of sales for the Chicago region. Also, Brett Beshore has been upped to market president for iHeart Indianapolis, and KYSR(FM) VP of Programming Lisa Worden will add program director role for the Los Angeles station. Additionally, A.J. has been named program director for WHQC(FM) and WLKO(FM), effective Feb. 12.

As SVP of sales, Kurtz will be responsible for all sales operations for the region. He will report to Chicago Region President Matt Scarano.

Kurtz joined iHeartMedia’s Chicago region in 2001 and moved from account executive to local sales manager and general sales manager before his promotion to VP of sales in 2015.

iHeartMedia Chicago owns and operates WKSC(FM), WLIT(FM), WEBG(FM), WVAZ(FM), WGCI(FM) and WGRB(AM).

Brett Beshore will oversee iHeartMedia Indianapolis’ four brands. He will also be responsible for the market’s operations.

He joins iHeartMedia Indianapolis from Fairway, where he most recently served as the region president. He has also served in VP and market manager roles for iHeartMedia, Times-Shamrock Communications and Cumulus Media. 

iHeartMedia Indianapolis owns and operates WFBQ(FM), WZRL(FM), WOLT(FM) and WNDE(AM).

Lisa Worden will continue as alternative rock brand manager for iHeartMedia’s National Programming Group.

As PD, she will manage the day-to-day programming operations for KYSR/Alt 98.7.

Worden recently joined iHeartMedia in November 2017 as VP of programming for KYSR and alternative rock brand manager for the National Programming Group.

Prior to joining iHeartMedia, She was the assistant PD and music director for KROQ(FM) in L.A. Starting in 2003, Worden spent two years as the PD for WHFS(FM) in Washington, D.C., before returning to KROQ(FM) in 2005.

iHeartMedia Los Angeles consists of KIIS(FM), KOST(FM), KBIG(FM), KRRL(FM), KYSR(FM), KFI(AM), KLAC(AM) and KEIB(AM).

In North Carolina, A.J. will oversee programming, promotions and digital operations for Charlotte’s WHQC and WLKO.

A.J. most recently served as the regional senior vice president of programming for iHeartMedia’s St. Louis Region and PD for KSLZ(FM) and KATZ(AM) in St. Louis. He has also held programming roles in Richmond, Va.; Norfolk, Va.; Roanoke, Va.; Syracuse, N.Y.; Rochester, N.Y.; Albany, N.Y.; and Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

iHeartMedia Charlotte owns and operates WKKT(FM), WLKO, WRFX(FM), WHQC and WEND(FM).
