Kim Keenan Resigns From MMTC

Maurita Coley Flippin will serve as interim president/CEO

Kim Keenan has resigned from her position as president and CEO of The Multicultural Media, Telecom and Internet Council, and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Maurita Coley Flippin will serve as interim president/CEO, the organization announced.

“Thanks to Kim, MMTC has more focus and understanding on making our policy work more relatable to the people it impacts most,” MMTC Board Chair Julia Johnson said in the release.

Keenan took over for MMTC co-founder David Honig in 2014. According to the announcement, she is leaving to pursue other professional opportunities.

Coley Flippin has served in her prior role at MMTC for five years. Immediately prior to joining MMTC, she served as executive director of Capital Area Asset Builders, a nonprofit in financial inclusion in the D.C. metro area. Coley Flippin also has served as an executive at the BET Cable Networks, as senior vice president of legal affairs, and as SVP of network operations and programming; and as a partner at the Davis Wright Tremaine and the Cole, Raywid and Braverman law firms.
