Lawo Helps Celebrate Bastille Day

Provided IP-networked consoles for France’s July 14 celebrations

For the third consecutive year, Lawo provided IP-networked audio consoles for the July 14 Bastille Day celebrations in Paris, where some 500,000 spectators gathered at the foot of the Eiffel Tower for the “Concert de Paris” and the traditional fireworks.

Two Lawo mc236 mixing consoles were used for FOH mixing, one handling the orchestra, the other for the choirs and opera singers. An additional mc236 managed the monitor mix. An mc266, located in an OB truck handled the live broadcast of the event on pubic TV and radio stations, France 2 and France Inter.

In addition, a Nova37 router connected mixing consoles and I/O systems through a Ravenna/AES67 network. Network user rights are managed directly from the console’s touchscreen using Lawo’s one-touch rights management system, the company said. Standard network presets are immediately available, but the router configuration can be tailored to a specific installation’s requirements, it added.
