Media outlets report threat against FCC chairman
Several tech-oriented media outlets have reported that sources inside the FCC say that Chairman Ajit Pai cancelled his expected trip to the annual Consumer Electronics Show, Jan. 9–12, due to a threat to his life.
Recode is credited with breaking the story. It attributed its information to two FCC sources. The story said that the specific nature of the threat was not revealed by the unnamed sources.
Pai’s cancellation of an appearance at such a major venue was a surprise to many, since he is noted as a fan of the latest technology and known for his high-profile PR savvy.
