Tom Osenkowsky has died.
A familiar and respected engineer in Connecticut and national broadcast circles, he was a longtime consultant, a contributor to Radio World and an associate editor of two editions of the National Association of Broadcasters Engineering Handbook, including the new 11th edition. He began his career in 1975 and is shown here at work in undated but early-career photo.
He had been battling lymphoma, multiple myeloma and stage IV renal failure since December of 2014. In July he terminated his cancer treatments, and had recently been in the care of Regional Hospice & Palliative Care in Danbury, Conn. He was 62.
He spoke about his illness and reflected on his career in a recent interview with Radio World. (Read that here.)
News of his passing circulated via social media outlets. Radio World today confirmed his death with friends, one of whom had been in touch with Osenkowsky’s family. We will report on any funeral or memorial plans.
