11.21.2008

Clear Channel spent $1.1 million in the third quarter on lobbying, the Associated Press reports in a story in Forbes.

That money went toward putting the company's views in front of the Federal Communications Commission, the Transportation Department and Congress. The disclosure report is filed with the House clerk's office.

Topics of lobbying include digital billboards, broadcast indecency, the satellite merger, the Fairness Doctrine, local ownership rules and other issues, AP reported, as well as Clear Channel's own recent acquisition.
