The National Federation of Community Broadcasters gave its Volunteer of the Year Award to Sue Gerber of KRCL(FM) in Salt Lake City during its annual Community Radio Conference.
KRCL Station Manager Donna Land Maldonado credits Gerber, a nine-year volunteer, with undertaking tasks including answering phones, preparing mailings, helping with on-air fund drives and representing that station at events throughout the year.
“All the nominees have been described as indispensable contributors to their stations,” said Carol Pierson, president and CEO of NFCB. “Community radio is richer because of these dedicated volunteers.”
