| Web Site Delves Into Broadcast Public Service |

A new Web site plays up the public service contributions of radio and TV stations.
The National Association of Broadcasters created it. The site is here.
It was made public at an event on Capitol Hill. NAB President/CEO David K. Rehr announced the new sit, which site allows a visitor to go state by state to see public service case studies. For instance, a visitor who clicks on Texas learns that radio stations there air an average of 155 PSAs each week and donated more than half a billion dollars in public service in 2006, including $420 million in donated airtime and $97 million in charitable contributions.
The site also sorts public service case studies by topic, like children, alcohol, animals, troops and community.
NAB says local TV and radio in total generated $10.3 billion in public service in the most recent survey period, including donated airtime and money raised for disaster relief and charities.
