Kim Walsh, director of the Detroit Radio Information Service, is the new president of the International Association of Audio Information Services. Walsh had been first vice president the group.

She replaces Heather Lusignan of VoicePrint, a division of Canada’s National Broadcast Reading Service. Lusignan stepped down in May after completing a second two-year term as president. She takes the role of immediate past president of an organization that helps radio reading services worldwide.

Lusignan and Bill Pasco of Sun Sounds Arizona — who’s also a past presidents’ council member — now co-chair a task force seeking a broadcast outlet for reading services in Oregon after Oregon Public Broadcasting recently turned off its reading service.

The elections took place at the IAAIS’ recent annual meeting in Raleigh, N.C.
