New APT on Show in Amsterdam

5.20.2008

Audio coding specialist APT was not only exhibiting IP and E1 delivery innovations at the AES exhibition in Amsterdam, Netherlands, alongside its new corporate logo.

Products on show included the WorldNet Oslo with an expanded feature-set, allowing the codec to combine voice, audio and data for transport over IP and E1.

Also available is a selection of plug-in modules including wideband voice and two-wire FXO/FXS options, designed to facilitate communication between sites without the need for additional infrastructure. In addition to existing Enhanced apt-X, MPEG L2, J.41 and J.57 options, it is now possible to deliver linear PCM with the WorldNet Oslo.

APT demonstrated full SIP compatibility on all of its IP audio codecs. This ensures full compliance across the ATP range to the N/ACIP standard set out by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).

APT also used AES for the European launch of its WorldCast Horizon HD, a duplex stereo codec that enables broadcasters to deliver FM and HD Radio content from studio to transmitter site.

Another development showcased by APT was its WorldCast Control Room Software, a master control room application that enables a user to send and receive audio from several other sources throughout an IP network.
