| Sennheiser MKH 8000 Goes Digital |

With the new Sennheiser MZD 8000 digital module, it is possible to digitalize the sound of MKH 8000 Series microphones directly at the microphone head.
According to Sennheiser Product Manager Sebastian Schmitz, the new digital module ensures "full quality" sound along the entire signal chain.
"In contrast to conventional digitalization, which uses a separate analog/digital converter at some stage in the chain, the Sennheiser MZD 8000 digital module eliminates cable losses and, most importantly, features a converter and surrounding circuitry that have been optimally matched to the microphone," Schmitz said.
The compact digital module simply screws onto the microphone head in place of the XLR module. Like other signal-carrying components in the MKH 8000 series, the module features two channels and converts the mic signal according to the AES 42 standard.
The MKH 8000 Series includes the omnidirectional MKH 8020, the cardioid MKH 8040 and the supercardioid MKH 8050.
