Berlin-based Neumann has respected a numeric tradition in naming its newest studio microphone.
The new TLM 67 uses the same K 67 capsule as the 1960s Neumann U 67 mic and also features new circuit technology — also used in the TLM 49 — that closely reproduces the sound characteristics of the U 67 without the use of tubes.
The switchable TLM 67 offers omnidirectional, cardioid or figure-of-eight patterns, selectable 10 dB pre-attenuation and high-pass filtering, making it possible to make precise adjustments depending on the specific recording situation.
In addition, the TLM has a dual-color design: pearl-gray for the body, combined with classic Neumann nickel coloring.
In honor of the company founder, Georg Neumann, and on the occasion of its 80th anniversary, Neumann has embellished the TLM 67 with a three-dimensional metal emblem.
