Dave Radigan is owner of WEBO, heard at 1330 kHz in southwest New York. He spoke at this weekend’s Binghamton Broadcasters annual reunion.
Radigan is shown at left accepting a Community Service Award presented by BE's Criss Onan (second to left) and Scott Fybush (right) of Fybush.com/NorthEast Radio Watch. They saluted the station for continued service to the local communities of Tioga County during the flooding.
Broadcast Electronics released the photo and a statement: “After being flooded out of their downtown Owego, N.Y., studios and forced to move to a borrowed RV and then to a makeshift studio in Radigan’s living room, WEBO AM staff continued to provide post-flooding coverage using BE’s AudioVault and broadcasting from a BE AM 5E transmitter.” It said WEBO remained on the air throughout the disaster, providing emergency information to Tioga County.
Radigan told BE he had to wheel his BE AudioVault automation computer through floodwaters by pushing it down the street in an office chair.
