APT Has New System Release

New codecs, IP packet forwarding and NAT Traversal among features added

WorldCast Systems APT codec arm has announced a product lineup-wide system release.

Numbered 1.3, it provides the full complement of codecs to all available APT models. Codecs include: MPEG 1 Layer II, MPEG 2 Layer II, AAC-LC, AAC-LD, AAC-ELD, HE-AAC, HE-AACv2 and, of course, APT’s Enhanced apt-X. It adds that aux data will now embed on all supported codecs.

The new release also adds IP packet forwarding. APT explains in a release: “Analogous to the Drop and Insert scheme often implemented in T1 and E1 circuits, packet forwarding allows a data stream to be received and forwarded to another destination enabling actions such as the insertion of local content.”

Also added is support for dynamic DNS services and a NAT Traversal mode for simplifying setup and use of the codecs right out of the box.
