The European Radio Show Evolves

Will host a lineup of sessions, workshops and conferences alongside a technical exhibition

The 2018 edition of Le Salon de la Radio/European Radio Show will take place at the Charlie Parker Centre of the Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris from Jan. 25–27.

The event, which will put the spotlight on Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway, has been an important meeting point for radio professionals since its inception in 2003.

The 2018 edition, which organizers say is also “opening its doors to the digital audio sector,” will feature 110 sessions, including workshops and conferences as well as three awards ceremonies, 200 speakers and 120 exhibitors spread over an area of 4,000 square meters.

On agenda for the three-day gathering are 13 round-table discussions, 36 keynote speeches and 24 workshops. Each day will focus on a different theme with Thursday Jan. 25 looking at “Strategy and Monetization;” Friday Jan. 26 underscoring “Innovation and New Ways of Writing Audio Content” and Saturday Jan. 27 highlighting “Glocal” (Global-Local).

As in 2017, the “Rencontres Radio 2.0” conference, providing information on streaming and the digital monetization of radio content and advertisements, will be integrated into the European Radio Show.

In addition nine master classes, each with several 30-minute sessions, will cover topics such as content and journalism, systems integration and engineering, automation and programming, audio/video production and communication/audience interaction. An evening session will take place on Friday Jan 26 and feature a round-table debate on “Radio and Live Entertainment from promotion to coproduction,” a buffet with show exhibitors, as well as a special performance by comedian Toni Rostini (a.k.a. Bruno Rost of WorldCast Systems).

Key conferences, master classes and workshops will be streamed and broadcast live via DAB+. The 2017 edition played host to some 100 exhibitors, 215 speakers and 5,800 professionals, with 108 workshops/debates.

Exhibitors include Netia, WorldCast Systems, Audiopole, MultiCam Systems, ATS-France Nagra Audio, Eurocom Broadcast, SAVE Diffusion, WinMedia, Digigram, AETA-Audio Systems and RCS Europe.

Radio World is an event partner alongside WorldDAB, Radiodays Europe and the European Broadcasting Union.
