ABA Schedules IP Fundamentals for Broadcast Seminar for Saturday

A refresher course on IP is being offered this Saturday, July 22, courtesy of the ABA Engineering Academy. “IP Fundamentals for Broadcast” will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the ABA training center in Hoover, Ala.

One of the presenters during the seminar will be Wayne Pecena, an assistant director for educational broadcast service in the Office of Information Technology at Texas A&M University, as well as the director of engineering of TTVN: The Enterprise Videoconference and Data Network for the university’s system and public broadcast stations KAMU(TV) and KAMU(FM).

Pecena’s presentations will cover five areas: introduction to IP networking standards and the physical layer; Ethernet switching fundamentals and implementation; IP routing and interworking fundamentals; building on a segmented IP network focused on performance and security; and cybersecurity fundamentals and securing the network.
