Technology executive Anton van Wyk has launched an audiovisual distribution and services company in South Africa.
AV Worx is based in Johannesburg and describes itself as a “tech-focused distributor that aims to answer broadcasters’ questions about flexible digital networks by exploiting a range of value-added extras.” Services include product sales as well as consulting, design, pre-sales, schematics, commissioning, training and support.
Van Wyk was manager of projects for Omega Digital and later technical director for broadcast audio specialists Wild & Marr.
“More recently van Wyk has helped multiple community radio stations stay connected by upgrading to IP technology,” the company said in its announcement.
“He not only managed the supply of cutting-edge IP equipment, but also provided network design, technical support, commissioning and training services, as well as remote support during COVID.”
