More German listeners will be getting their radio through DAB+, as a number of companies are expanding DAB offerings in different regions.
NDR has already constructed a new DAB+ transmitter in the Göttingen area to the supply the region between Northeim and Friedland with NDR programs.
In Moringen, Hardegsen, Dransfeld, Rosdorf and Nörten-Hardenberg, NDR radio programs will also be received in DAB+. Available NDR programs include NDR 1 Lower Saxony, NDR 2, NDR Kultur, NDR Info and N-JOY, as well as NDR Blue, NDR Plus and NDR Info Spezial as exclusive digital radio offerings.
In Hessen, Radio/Tele FFH GmbH and Co. Betriebs-KG has a plan to expand its DAB+ capabilities. There are a couple of proposed scenarios, but the most likely according to reports, is that Radio/Tele FFH would launch a separate multiplex for North, Middle and East Hessen. Radio/Tele FFH expects to be able to act on their plan by the middle of next year.
