Lawo Adds Features to Diamond Console and Power Core

Software update is available via website download

Lawo has released new software for the diamond broadcast mixing console, its Power Core DSP engine and its VisTool graphical control interface and On-Air Designer configuration software.

“Release 7.0.0 PL-001 adds numerous additions and refinements, including software support for the new Power Core AIOX (Audio I/O Extender) device, additional DSP and metering features, and several new license options for Power Core,” the company said.

The updates were announced by Johan Boqvist, senior product manager, radio.

New features for diamond consoles include PPM meters and media icons for the color displays in monitor sections and input source displays, Access and channel-based Gain Reduction meter for dynamics, LUX Correlation Meter, a “Fader Over Press” function that adds programmable logic functions that can execute when faders are closed, and logic that enables operators to clear DSP parameters applied to an audio source.

The Power Core DSP engine now has extended “Q” values to help fine-tune EQ curves, a self-keyed side-chain filter for dynamics processing that excludes frequencies from its calculations, the ability to adjust the DeEsser’s active frequency, and support for up to eight AutoMix groups to support morning show and talkshow producers.

Also, Power Core license options have been expanded. There are now six main options including the new Power Core Compact, a cost-effective choice for those building small to medium studios.

Also new are two “add-on” licenses. Conference Assign gives control over the level of the associated N–1 bus and allows inclusion or exclusion of other N–1 busses. Aux Pan allows control over the panning of individual sources per Aux bus. These join other existing license add-on options.
