2015 Radio Show to Discuss Modern Audio Streaming

Kirk Harnack of Telos Alliance will lead presentation on new technologies

ATLANTATeens are the future and as a result will dictate the market, which in the terms of radio may likely mean a move from traditional practices to more audio streaming, if the findings of multiple surveys and reports prove true.

In an effort to prepare for this shift, the Radio Show will hold “Modern Audio Streaming: Leveraging New Technologies to Attract Todays Listeners,” a presentation from Kirk Harnack, director of multimedia marketing for the Telos Alliance.

The presentation will look at the developments impacting stream quality, reliability and features. This will include Adaptive Streaming, new coding choices, pre-processing, cloud-based software and advanced streaming software UIs that are able to tailor themselves to a stations workflow.

In his more than 35 years of experience in the industry, Harnack has helped expand the understanding on IP-Audio, VoIP for broadcast, and more, and now he looks to do something similar with audio streaming.

The Modern Audio Streaming presentation will take place on Oct. 1 from 2:30 p.m.-3 p.m. on the Innovation Stage in the Marketplace.
