WASHINGTON� The Federal Communications Commission�s Commissioner Mignon L. Clyburn announced the departure of one staffer and also named her successor.
Wireline legal advisor Rebekah Goodheart is leaving Clyburn�s office, where she has worked since 2013; she has been with the commission since 2008. Claude Aiken will take over her role.
Aiken most recently served as associate general counsel and special advisor on internet law and policy. He has been with the commission since 2008 through the Attorney Honors Program after graduating cum laude from New York Law School. At the FCC, he has worked as a deputy division chief in the Wireline Competition Bureau�s Competition Policy Division and special counsel in the Office of Strategic Planning and Policy Analysis, and held attorney positions in the Wireline Competition Bureau and Office of General Counsel.
Before joining the commissioner�s office Goodheart served as deputy director of the Technology Transitions Policy Task Force and as associate chief of the Wireline Competition Bureau. She previously served as a senior policy advisor for the Omnibus Broadband Initiative, and she also served as assistant division chief in the Industry Analysis Division of the Media Bureau. Prior to joining the commission, Goodheart served as a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, Antitrust Division in the Telecommunications and Media Enforcement Section, and was an associate at the law firm Wiley Rein LLP.
