Community Broadcasters Expands to the Sunshine State

Purchases four stations from Apex Broadcasting

WATERTOWN, N.Y.�Community Broadcasters LLC is purchasing four stations in the Destin/Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., market from Apex Broadcasting Inc.�

The transfer of licenses is pending approval from the FCC. The four Florida stations purchased are WECQ(FM) in Destin; WHWY(FM) in Holt; WWAV(FM) in Santa Rosa; and WZLB(FM) in Valparaiso.

Community Broadcasters, in partnership with Northwood Ventures, owns and operates 16 signals in upstate New York, as well as 16 radio stations, seven translators and three TV construction permits in South Carolina. The purchase from Apex brings Community Broadcasters� total holdings to 46 signals.�

Bruce Mittman, Community Broadcasters� general partner and COO, said the purchase furthers the company�s vision to grow a small-market radio group in strategic locations.�
