WASHINGTON In the latest of edition of the NAB”s Licensed to Serve e-newsletter, FCC Commissioner and Buffalo, N.Y., native Michael O”Rielly recognized the contributions of his hometown”s broadcasters during the recent severe winter storms and their aftermath.
They kept powering through the storm, committing umpteen hours of airtime, and bringing in teams from other parts of the country, making sure they had troops to get out the information, O”Rielly said. I was very impressed also with their use of social media not only were people listening and watching their broadcasts, they were also getting their information out as fast as they could on different media as best they could.
The edition also featured other stories about how radio and TV stations covered the snow event, according to an email from the NAB”s Dennis Wharton.
