FEMA Shares “EAS Sound-alike” File

It’s available on the EAS participant website to use with PSAs

WASHINGTON The Federal Emergency Management Agency says an EAS sound header for PSA support is now available online.

FEMAs Al Kenyon wrote a letter to the FCC, explaining that the file includes non-functional sound-alike EAS data headers, Attention Signal and EOM data bursts and is intended for use in educational public service announcements.

The FEMA IPAWS Lab had produced the audio file earlier and has now made it available to EAS participants, as of early August, as FEMA had committed to do in a November 2016 meeting of the FCCs Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau.
