LAS VEGAS�The Las Vegas Convention Center is poised to expand again, by taking over the space now occupied by the Riviera Hotel and Casino.�

The Las Vegas Visitors and Convention Authority purchased the hotel and casino in a multimillion dollar deal and will take over the property in about six months, reports KSNV(TV), Las Vegas.

The Riviera will be demolished and the LVCC will expand to a total of 1.8 million square feet, in both exhibit and meeting space. The work will be completed in two phases, with some of the work involving renovating the current facility over a five to 10-year period, according to the account.
