WASHINGTON � The Federal Communications Commission will become a tenant of MetLife Investment Management when it moves into its new headquarters in the fall of 2019, according to a report from the Washington Business Journal.
MetLife has paid $58 million for Trammel Crow Co.�s Sentinel Square III project, a 545,000-square-foot, 11-story building in the city�s NoMa area. Trammel Crow will continue to serve as the project�s lead developer.
The FCC has been promised nearly 473,000 square feet at Sentinel Square III, though a protest by the owner of the commission�s current headquarters in Southwest DC has not yet been settled. There is a tentative settlement that would bring another federal agency to the location, but it is contingent on Senate approval.
The Sentinel Square III project is expected to be ready for occupancy in November of 2019; the FCC is expected to move in to its new home around that time.
