Strachan Named FCC Legislative Affairs Director

He had been serving as acting director

WASHINGTON� Timothy Strachan has been tapped to serve as director of the Federal Communications Commission�s Office of Legislative Affairs, Chairman Ajt Pai announced. Strachan had been serving as acting director.

Strachan has been an attorney in the Office of Legislative Affairs since 2008. Prior to that, he was counsel to the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, where he worked predominantly on civil legal policy.�

He earned his J.D. from Georgetown University and his undergraduate degree in communication from the University of Maryland. �

�Our ability to communicate effectively with members of Congress and their staffs is essential to our work,� said Chairman Pai. �We deal with critical and complex policy issues at the agency and Tim�s intelligence, experience, and communications skills go a long way in helping the agency be responsive to and transparent with Congress.�

Outside the office, Strachan also works as a radio sportscaster covering Terrapin football.
