Chestnut’s radio career began the summer of 1974 when he built his first AM transmitter kit and began broadcasting from the neighborhood pool. He earned his bachelor of science degree from Bob Jones University in broadcast engineering. His first full-time board shift was on WOEL-FM Elkton, MD. Upon graduation from college, Chestnut worked as a field engineer for the Bible Broadcasting Network then later joined Back to the Bible International as a recording engineer. In 1998, Chestnut moved to Kansas City where he has worked for Bott Radio Network, Sinclair Broadcast Group and Susquehanna Radio in various supervisory roles and has been employed with Entercom Radio since 2000.
