Apr 9, 2013 1:24 AM, By Doug Irwin, CPBE DRB

Columbia, MD – Apr 8, 2013 – Ibiquity Digital will demonstrate the new Mitsubishi HD Radio navigation platform at the 2013 NAB Show. Although announced at the LA Auto show in December 2012, this promises to be the first public demonstration of the new advanced navigation system, incorporating Nokia’s HD Radio traffic service broadcasted by the Broadcaster Traffic Consortium (BTC). The BTC is comprised of 24 of the largest broadcasters who have come together to provide a nationwide digital broadcast platform for HERE’s advanced traffic and traveler information service. The service will now be available to Mitsubishi owners free of charge.

Drivers will now have access to real-time traffic information for major roadways as well as smaller roadways with the same level of accuracy on traffic speed and time delays. Additionally, Nokia’s HD Radio service will also include weather reports and fuel prices.

See the demonstration at the HD Radio Booth, C451.
