NAB, EPA Release Going Green Guide

Washington – Apr 8, 2009 – The National Association of Broadcasters partnered with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to create a going green guidebook that describes and encourages green practices for broadcasters. Going Green: A Broadcaster’s Guide to Acting Locally, contains environmental facts and lists a variety of suggested efforts stations can undertake to promote a more eco-friendly environment and healthier lifestyle.

The booklet was published using recycled resources and was mailed to NAB members in advance of Earth Day. The booklet is available online.

WGBH’s new Brighton complex is officially green, with LEED certification granted by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program. The green designation features construction from recycled steel, motion-sensitive office lighting, UV-filtering glass and motorized sunshades, water-conserving features, solar panels generating 100kW of power and a “green roof.”…
