Reference book
The NATE CTS was last revised in 2008 and the new edition includes updated references to the ANSI Z359 Fall Protection Code and Z490.1 Criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health and Environmental Training standard. The updated NATE CTS also includes additional terminology in the definitions section of the document. The NATE CTS was originally developed in 2005 to establish the minimum requirements to which all tower climbers should be trained. The NATE CTS outlines individual standards for varying levels of tower climber expertise: Authorized Climber, Competent Climber and Competent Rescuer. The document also contains a Course Training Plan to demonstrate how to implement and utilize the NATE CTS.
