Oct 7, 2011 9:26 AM
Hackett’s Cove, NS – Oct 6, 2011 – With the interest in AM power saving, Nautel has created a FAQ on the topic and will host a webinar about it on Oct. 19, 2011. On Sept. 13, 2011 the FCC allowed U.S. AM stations to use technologies that reduce transmitter power consumption. These techniques have been available to broadcasters in other countries for years. The Nautel FAQ looks at the general ideas of what the ruling means for broadcasters. Access the FAQ at www.nautel.com/Saving_Power_FAQ.pdf.
The Oct. 19 webinar, called AM Power Saving Techniques, will run from noon to 1 p.m. EDT. Chuck Kelly, Nautel director of sales, and Tim Hardy, Nautel’s head of engineering, will discuss Modulation-Dependent Carrier Level control technologies and how to implement them on Nautel AM transmitters. The webinar will explain how the technologies work and feature a live demonstration of MDCL.
