Stanley S. Hubbard to Receive 2013 Lowry Mays Excellence in Broadcasting Award

New York – Mar 12, 2013 – Stanley S. Hubbard, Chairman of Hubbard Broadcasting, will receive the 2013 Lowry Mays Excellence in Broadcasting Award. The Award will be presented during The Broadcasters Foundation of America Breakfast on April 10, at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas, in conjunction with the National Association of Broadcasters NAB Show.

Hubbard Broadcasting has stayed on the industry’s cutting edge, pioneering innovations in radio, television and satellite broadcasting. The company owns 13 television and 17 radio stations, F&F Productions ReelzChannel – TV About Movies, and is the controlling shareholder of Ovation TV.

Hubbard’s accomplishments include overseeing the building of the first successful UHF television station in a VHF market; with others in the Hubbard organization, creating the world’s first satellite newsgathering organization; and establishing U.S. Satellite Broadcasting (USSB). Broadcasting & Cable labeled him “the father of satellite broadcasting,” and he is a charter member of its Hall of Fame. He is a recipient of the Satellite Broadcasting Communications Association’s Arthur C. Clarke Award, the National Association of Broadcasters’ Distinguished Service, the University of Minnesota M Club Lifetime Achievement award, and more.

Hubbard holds memberships in numerous industry associations, including the National Association of Broadcasters, the Broadcasters Foundation of America, and the International Radio and Television Society.

The Lowry Mays Excellence in Broadcasting Award honors an individual in broadcasting whose work exemplifies innovation, community service, advocacy, and entrepreneurship.
