The latest financial reports from XM and Sirius reflect a total subscription base of 12.3 million Americans at the end of the companies’ fiscal third quarter. The companies added a total of about 700,000 subscribers during the quarter.
XM finished the third quarter with about 7.2 million, up about 300,000 in the previous three months. Sirius had 5.1 million, up about 400,000.
Terrestrial U.S. radio has some 260 million listeners each week, according to NAB estimates.
