September 2000 registered only a 3 percent increase in local and a 6 percent decline in national sales compared to the same time frame the previous year.
That’s according to the RAB. However, fueled by outstanding ad performances earlier in the year, the first three quarters of 2000 for local and national combined are up 16 percent over the same period in 1999.
This is consistent with the BIA Financial Network’s early prediction that the 2000 estimated gross radio advertising revenues will increase 16 percent from 1999.
