'This I Believe' Honored With Gabriel Award

NPR’s “This I Believe” won the 2006 Gabriel Award for National Short Feature.
The feature is a collaboration between NPR and This I Believe, Inc., and highlights the work of NPR listeners who have submitted 14,000 essays, as well as well-known participants such as former Secretary of State Colin Powell, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, author John Updike and activist Gloria Steinem. Past essays can be heard or read online.
The Gabriel Awards are sponsored by the Catholic Academy for Communication Arts Professionals. They honor broadcasting that serves audiences through the positive, creative treatment of concerns to humankind.
