750 Consumers Wearing PPMs

Arbitron has reached the halfway point with 750 individuals recruited in the Philadelphia DMA for the final phase of the U.S. market trial of the Portable People Meter, the company’s new radio, TV and cable TV audience measurement device. It expects to have 1,500 consumers outfitted with the devices by the end of March.
It has taken 24 days to outfit 750 consumers with the PPM. Currently, there are eight TV stations, 38 radio stations and 22 cable networks in the Philadelphia market that have encoded their audio signals for the U.S. market trial. The entire Philly DMA also includes Allentown and Reading, PA; Atlantic City and Trenton, NJ; and Wilmington, DE.
