Some 850 low-power FM construction permits have been granted so far.
That’s out of 2,800 applications filed.
Another 550 applications have been accepted for filing and 400 applications have been dismissed so far, according to the commission.
The totals include Monday’s grants for 25 CPs for new LPFMs, including one to Dine College in Tsaile, Ariz., South Jersey Christian Academy in Cape May Courthouse, N.J., and St. Raphael School in Santa Barbara, Calif., The public has 30 days to submit petitions to deny.
Two LPFM applications for a CP were dismissed. Interestingly, six LPFM licenses were cancelled because a renewal application wasn’t filed.
