The Australian Broadcasting Service has chosen Tieline Technology’s Report-IT Enterprise app for up to 500 iPhones to be used by ABC journalists and contributors in Australia and abroad.
The Report-IT Enterprise is an app that turns a standard iPhone into a codec, allowing the user to contact a receiving codec at a home studio and transmit. Report-IT Enterprise also allows engineers to remotely configure and update the app. Tieline’s Charlie Gawley explained: “All programming adjustments for Report-IT user accounts around the world can be performed using a Report-IT administrator account on an iPhone, or a specially designed web-browser management interface, which is accessible from any computer with an internet connection.”
In addition ABC purchased an unspecified number of Tieline Mic Adapters. The Mic Adapter is an iPhone interface that supplies an XLR connection, allowing use of a professional grade dynamic mic with the iPhone.
