The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union Digital Broadcasting Symposium 2017 is going digital, or at least that is what will be one of the main ideas at the core of this year’s event.
While the international conference and workshop will address a range of topics in both radio and TV, the theme of embracing and implementing digital technologies throughout the complete media chain will be among ABU’s biggest.
The official theme for 2017 is “Digitize, Digitalize & Dominate.” Areas that are expected to be addressed during the conference through its exhibition and workshops are enhancements in workflow and media management; media on the cloud and cyber security; immersive media experience and evolving business; evolving platforms and business opportunities; production technologies; and transitioning to new content delivery networks.
In addition, a number of speakers have been announced for the symposium’s workshop, including Joan Warner, Asia Pacific chair of WorldDAB and CEO of Commercial Radio Australia; the BBC’s Lindsay Cornell; Lee Sabel and Bernie O’Neill from WorldDAB; Nick Piggott from RadioDNS; and Jørn Jensen from NRK in Norway.
The 13th ABU DBS will take place from March 6–9 at the Royal Chulan Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
