Broadcasting Union says WorldDMB, Sony, Harris Broadcast, Grass Valley and EMC are among the major industry partners who will sponsor the 2014 ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium.
“The aim of the symposium is to help broadcasters and others in the industry to collaborate to achieve success,” said ABU Director Technology Amal Punchihewa. “We are delighted by the support for the 2014 event from major industry players.”
The annual symposium, organized by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, attracts more than 1,000 participants. This year’s edition will be held in Kuala Lumpur from March 4-7.
The 2014 symposium’s theme is Embracing Technological Innovations, is the tenth in the series, which is designed to help radio and television broadcasters and the industry to successfully transition to digital. It will feature presentations by experts, panel discussions and workshops, as well as an exhibition floor showcasing broadcasting technology and services.
“Technological changes in the media landscape have given rise to new challenges for broadcasters, especially in their investment plans, in meeting the audiences’ growing demands for delivering content beyond traditional platforms, and in adapting to fast evolving transmission technology,” said Punchihewa.
