News/Talk stayed in the top niche as Arbitron released its latest format trends report.
The format had a 17.6 AQH share radio listening for Persons age 12 and older in 96 continuously measured markets. But the format slipped 0.4 share points from a year earlier.
Adult contemporary was second and was a significant gainer; the only format gaining more was Spanish, now ranked third in the report. Contemporary hits were fourth and urban fifth.

Adult contemporary is tops in the 25-54 demo; news/talk is first in 35-64 and 35+.
