Among stations that are airing HD Radio, news and adult contemporary are the most common formats.
According to an analysis of primary station formats from BIA Financial Network prepared for the Radio World HD Radio Scoreboard in the Sept. 26 issue, of digital stations on the air, 12.6% are news stations, about the same number are AC, and rock comes in third.
AC and rock are the top primary formats among stations that are multicasting.
