Access to Capital Conference is Now

The Minority Media & Telecommunications Council “Access to Capital” Conference July 19-20 focuses on deal making for minority broadcasters.
Minorities own only 4.2% of the nation’s broadcast stations, and their holdings represent just 1.3% of industry asset value, according to the MMTC.
The June 24 Appeals Court ruling, telling the FCC to find ways to advance minority ownership “ought to inspire a wave of investment in minority owned broadcast ventures,” according to MMTC Executive Director David Honig.
“The three greatest impediments to the growth of minority owned broadcasting are access to capital, access to deal flow, and regulatory initiative,” he states.
Twenty-one financial institutions and more than 100 entrepreneurs will gather at Washington’s L’Enfant Plaza Hotel July 19-20 for the MMTC Access to Capital Conference and Hall of Fame Reception. For information, go to:www.mmtconline.org.
