AccuWeather introduced an updated design for its Website that features faster download times to access more pages, easier navigation and more accessible radar. The weather service provider also touts the revamped site as providing more exposure for advertisers because viewers will browse longer and there are more weather driven advertising opportunities.
“By moving users through the site faster, we can now average 5 to 6 page views per visit, up from the 3.5 page views per visit we were averaging previously,” says Dr. Joel N. Myers, president and founder of AccuWeather.
The site now offers the Internet’s ad size, 300 x 250, as well as space within the navigation bar where users traffic to access weather content. AccuWeather.com will have 120 x 600 “Tower Ads” available on all local radar pages, which offer space for geo-targeting an advertising audience looking at specific local radar. The site attracts 4.8 million unique users monthly.
