Founded in 2008 by Van Kan Cedric, Baudechon Yves, Alexandre Saboundjian and Bindels Gilles, its services saw rapid growth in 2011 and is currently supplying about 42 million listening hours a month.
Radionomy differs from services like Pandora and Spotify in that the stations it hosts are run by members, who are anyone from typical listeners to artists and comedians and even supplies them with free tools to broadcast, promote and monetize stations.
