AEQ at the Games

Commentary and routing systems predominate at Pan Am Games

Spain-based broadcast equipment maker AEQ had a front-row seat at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, Oct. 14–30.

Throughout the sports venues AEQ equipment could be found being used by host broadcaster International Sports Broadcasting. Gear included DCS-10 commentary units along with Ranger multiplexers.

According to a press release, a total of 60 DCS-10s and 22 Rangers were installed.

Each DCS-10 can handle up to three presenters and a host. It works with a rackmounted controller that can operate up to 10 DCS-10s.

The Ranger is an E1/T1 multiplexer
