Spanish firm AEQ says several broadcasters are making use of its codecs during the 2018 FIFA World Cup, taking place in Russia.
Among them, Russian national radio broadcaster VGTRK is implementing AEQ Phoenix stationary audio codecs as well as several production studios based on AEQ BC2000D digital technology to cover the event.
In addition, Mexico’s Televisa and Azteca Television, Spain’s COPE and Onda Cero radio networks, Brazil’s Globo and Radio Jornal and Indonesia’s Republica Radio are all using the AEQ Phoenix line of audio codecs — which include Stratos, Mercury, Venus, Mobile and Alio — for AoIP and ISDN transmissions of the sports event.
The 2018 FIFA World cup began on June 14 and will conclude on July 15, with the final match taking place in Moscow at the Luzhniki Stadium.
